Many people think that forest maintenance always costs money. That's not the case. The wood that is released is worth money. DEVOBO buys that wood from the forest owner and arranges the sorting, transport and disposal. In many cases, the proceeds can bear the costs of maintenance, and sometimes the forest owner also pays for it. Why are we removing trees?
A forest grows every year. After a while, the trees are too close together and compete for light, water and space. They then grow thin and often crooked, and young trees don't get a chance. Such a forest becomes more vulnerable to storms, drought and disease. By removing targeted trees, a thinning, the best trees get room to grow. The forest remains standing and becomes stronger. Sometimes we also remove sick or dead trees, or trees that are dangerous along paths and roads.
Careful for nature, soil and visitors
During the work, we set off the work area and place signs along the paths. Therefore, do not walk in the fenced-off area and do not climb on the piles of wood. We leave trees with cavities or nests, and we work as much as possible outside the breeding season. Our machines drive on fixed driving paths, so that the forest floor is spared. Afterwards, we make the paths passable again.
